At Ecosonus, we design and deploy integrated Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) systems based on your needs, tailored to biodiverse and remote environments. Our solutions combine low-power acoustic sensors, satellite remote sensing data, and AI pipelines to support continuous ecosystem monitoring at scale.

By integrating hardware, cloud infrastructure, and intelligent analytics, we deliver long-term biodiversity monitoring that is cost-effective, reliable, and auditable—even in challenging terrains such as tropical rainforests and cloud forests.
Ecosonus transforms large-scale biodiversity and bioacoustic datasets—including those collected by partners using their own acoustic recorders—into actionable insights using AI-driven acoustic recognition and geospatial analytics. We also provide standalone data analysis services, integrating AI agents, satellite remote sensing, and interactive GIS maps tailored to user needs.

Our analytics deliver transparent, science-based evidence that supports conservation planning and access to biodiversity, carbon, and water finance mechanisms.
Capacity building is central to our mission. Ecosonus provides tailored, hands-on training adapted to the needs of communities, conservation practitioners, and local institutions.

Our programs cover bioacoustic monitoring, data interpretation, AI-powered tools, geospatial visualization, and sustainable finance mechanisms—including carbon, biodiversity, and water credits—empowering partners to design systems, manage environmental data, and steward their ecosystems sustainably.

About

OUR HISTORY
Ecosonus is a startup incubated at Harvard Innovation Labs, founded to address the urgent biodiversity loss facing the Amazon and other global hotspots. Recognizing that existing monitoring systems are often too expensive, fragmented, or unreliable, we set out to build scalable, community-centered solutions that bridge science, technology, and conservation finance.

From the beginning, our work has focused on Latin America—partnering directly with Indigenous and local communities to co-create tools that support both conservation and economic resilience.

OUR VISION
We envision a future where biodiversity is measurable, valued, and protected, and where communities living closest to nature are empowered to lead conservation efforts.

By combining transparency, integrity, and sustainability, Ecosonus aims to make biodiversity monitoring accessible at scale—unlocking opportunities in eco-tourism, biodiversity credits, and ecosystem services, while strengthening climate resilience across vulnerable regions.

OUR TECHNOLOGY
Our technology stack integrates bioacoustics, AI, satellite remote sensing, and large language models (LLMs) into unified, user-friendly platforms.

From AI-powered species identification and geospatial modeling to interactive dashboards and agentic chatbots, our tools translate complex environmental data into real-time insights for decision-makers, communities, and conservation partners. This modular and scalable approach allows our solutions to be replicated across ecosystems and regions.

Nature-Powered Ecotourism Solutions

Protecting Communities Through Healthy Ecosystems

Turning Nature Data Into Sustainable Finance
Ecosonus supports sustainable ecotourism by providing real-time biodiversity insights that enhance visitor experiences and conservation storytelling.

Our pilot project in Yanachaga Chemillén National Park (Peru)—covering 122,000 hectares of cloud forest and Amazon rainforest—uses AI-powered bird identification, interactive biodiversity maps, and an intelligent chatbot to showcase ecosystem richness. These tools help parks and communities demonstrate conservation impact while creating new eco-tourism value.
Healthy ecosystems play a critical role in mitigating climate-related disasters. Ecosonus developed an ecosystem services application that uses remote sensing imagery, AI, and LLMs to demonstrate how forests reduce risks such as landslides affecting downstream communities.

By visualizing environmental change and ecosystem functions, our tools support informed land-use planning, disaster risk reduction strategies, and community awareness.

Our work has been recognized internationally, including:
-
2nd Place, 2nd Copernicus Latin America Hackathon (European Union, 2025)
-
Top 10 Selection, AI4Good EW4All Innovation Challenge (2025)
Ecosonus enables access to sustainable finance mechanisms—including carbon, biodiversity, and water credits—by generating reliable, science-based environmental data. Our approach integrates bioacoustic monitoring, remote sensing, and AI-driven analytics to support multiple ecosystem service assessments.

Through partnerships with Indigenous communities in Peru and across Latin America, we produce auditable and transparent evidence that supports credit development while creating new income streams for local communities and a replicable model for scaling conservation finance.
